Arquitectura de Villanueva

In 1762 Diego de Villanueva, together with José de Castañeda, was commissioned by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando to write a course on architecture to be taught at the institution itself. Once the project was completed, the plates became part of the Tratado de decoración y hermosura de las fábricas, printed in Valencia by Benito Monfort.
The original plates, in a very good state of preservation, were used until the 1990s.
