Quantity

The print belongs to the series Architectural Monuments of Spain, published at the expense of the State and under the direction of a special commission created by the Ministry of Public Works, the inspection of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and whose plates were stamped in the National Calcography and the texts were printed in the Royal Printing House between 1856 and 1882.

Its objective was to gather and publicize, in a luxury publication and with prints of the highest quality, the main monuments of the three cultures on Spanish soil - pagan, Mohammedan and Christian - as they were classified by the Commission in charge of coordinating this project, with a total of 30 notebooks with 470 sheets of text and 134 prints , plus another 147 prints that lack explanatory text. For the graphic part several techniques were used: etching and burin on steel matrix –occasionally, copper sheet–, aquatint, lithography and chromolithography.

The texts were printed in two columns, in Spanish and French, on sheets of the same format as the prints with beautiful headers and endings.
