Fernando Bellver is a painter, sculptor and engraver descended from an important lineage of Spanish artists. He began his studies at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in Madrid, and in 1972 he had his first exhibition. During this period he worked as a draughtsman for several publishing houses, creating posters and album covers. 

His works are characterised by the critical game he plays with images known from the history of art and comics. In 1976 he studied at Dimitri Papageorgiu's studio, and later began to work and exhibit at the Estiarte gallery in Madrid.

From 1982 onwards his career is a succession of awards and exhibitions projects such as ARCO in Madrid, a grant from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work at the Atellier Nórd, the Fefa Seiquer gallery or even being invited by the Egyptian government to make a series of engravings for the Universal Exhibition in Seville, highlighting some moments in his artistic career.

In 1985 he co-founded the workshop Mayor 28, bringing together some of the best Spanish graphic artists of recent decades.
