Daniel Merino was a Spanish painter and engraver from Madrid. He trained at the School of Arts and Crafts of the capital making his first exhibition at the Círculo de Bellas Artes and shortly after between 1960 and 1961 he exhibited in Zaragoza, Santander, Seville and Barcelona.

He won the Extraordinary Prize in the IV Youth Art Contest of Madrid; was selected for the National Exhibition of Fine Arts; he travelled to Paris, Belgium and Holland being awarded at the Exhibition Painters of Africa; he was awarded the Prize of the General Direction of Fine Arts; the Zaragoza Prize in its IV Biennial; he was appointed Corresponding Academician of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of the Immaculate Conception of Valladolid; won the City of Murcia Award; the Círculo Dos Award, the Goya Medal of Honor For Drawing Award; the Bordejé Prize; the Autumn Salon Award; the Second Prize I L'Oreal Contest; the Osborne Prize; the Silver Mill in the National Contest of Valdepeñas; the Caja de Ahorros de Guadalajara National Award; the Painters Award of the Caja de Ahorros de Córdoba and the IV BMW Prize.

His work can be found in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ibiza, Alto Aragón Museum of Huesca, Provincial Museum of León, Museum of Equatorial Guinea, Museum of Contemporary Art of Ayllón, Camón Aznar Museum of Zaragoza, Museum of drawing of the Castle of Larrés, Museum of Contemporary Art of Sa Pobla, National Library, Palace of Congress, National Calcography - Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and in other important public and private collections.
