Federico Navarrete was a Spanish engraver from Valencia. He studied at the Escuela Superior de la Academia de San Fernando. He participated in the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts of 1860, 1862, 1864 and 1866, obtaining honorable mention in the last three, and presenting in them the plates corresponding to The Life of San Bruno, intaglio reproductions of the works of Vicente Carducho, and other reproductions of masters such as José de Ribera or Esteban Murillo, all works guarded by the Royal Academy of San Fernando.

He ran twice more in 1878 and 1884, winning the medal of third and second class respectively. Dedicated fully to engraving and teaching, he combined his artistic production, highlighting his collaboration in the series of Architectural Monuments of Spain and in the selected paintings of the Royal Academy of San Fernando, with his position as professor and professor of this art at the School of Fine Arts of Barcelona.
