Gabriel Ramos Uranga was a Spanish painter and engraver. He studied architecture in Barcelona and then studied at the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando, where he began in 1965 to study intaglio engraving in Cuenca. In 1975 he founded the lithographic engraving workshop Marrazarri, where he began to produce and make individual and collective exhibitions in places such as San Sebastián, Madrid, Barcelona, Cuenca or Seville, at a national level. Internationally he also exhibited his work in cities such as Frankfurt, Cologne or Heidelberg. As for his painting he is considered a key figure in the plane of abstraction of Basque painting.

In this way Uranga has worked abstraction with movements and compositions full of infinite perspectives, always looking for the limits of painting, investigating to the deepest. He received numerous awards for both his painting and his engravings. He was awarded an honorable mention in the International Exhibition of Graphic Work of Artede, the first Prize Engraved in Gure Artea, granted by the Basque Government, and the National Prize of Engraving of the National Calcography.
