Jordi Teixidor de Otto is a Spanish artist from Valencia. His artistic training began at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Carlos and he held his first solo exhibition in 1966 at the Sala Mateu in the same city. He met the generation of artists called Grupo de Cuenca, which would serve him years later to form the group Nueva Generación with which he takes his work to other styles and different approaches such as hard edge painting. Some time later, he traveled to New York, where he met the work of the artist Barnett Newman from whom he learned and assimilated the use of sidebands, to settle in Madrid in the 80s, where years later he was appointed academician by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. From his time in Madrid, his work is abandoning the use of colors so that black appears.

He has made both solo and group exhibitions mostly in Spain, Europe and some in the United States such as at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, The Spanish Institute in New York or Mannheim Kunstmuseum in Dusseldorf. His work is represented in galleries and institutions such as the Bank of Spain, the National Library, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art or the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, among others.
