Francisco Aguilar is a Spanish painter and printmaker. He presents his first exhibition in 1979, at the age of 21, at the former Antequera's Savings Bank Gallery. Years later, he created and managed his own workshop where, in addition to creative work, he also developed training activities.

He was a founding exhibitor at Estampa, the International Contemporary Engraving Show that has been held in Madrid since 1993 and has shown his work in numerous exhibitions in Spain, France, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Cuba, Brussels, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Poland, Taiwan, China, Korea, Japan, Argentina and the United States. His work has been distinguished in numerous awards and competitions such as the first prize of the XIII 'Máximo Ramos' Contest, the Engraving Prize in the II Spanish Contest of Plastic Arts of the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the Prize of the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving of Marbella or the National Engraving Prize of the National Calcography.
