Luis Feito was a Spanish painter, recognized as one of the most important figures in contemporary Spanish art. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and after completing his studies moved to Paris, where he came into contact with avant-garde painting. This, given the immobility of painting in Spain, serves as an incentive for him, along with other Spanish artists such as Antonio Saura, Manolo Millares and Rafael Canogar, to create the group El Paso, recognized as the first avant-garde movement in post-war Spain, which integrated ideas of expressionism and informalism.

Most of his works lack titles, are recognized through their numbering, and are part of the most recognized collections and museums of contemporary art in the world, such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, The Guggenheim Foundation in New York, the Museum of Modern Art of Mexico City, the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris or the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid. He received numerous awards and distinctions for his artistic work, such as the Gold Medal of Fine Arts, the distinction of Officer of arts and letters of France, the National Prize for Graphic Art or the David Bright prize at the XXX Venice Biennale. He was also a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
