Fernando de Terán Troyano is a Spanish artist from Madrid. Trained as an architect at the School of Architecture of Madrid, he also studied drawing and painting. He is currently a Professor, Doctor architect, Doctor Of Urban Planning, Professor of Urbanism, honorary professor of the Argentine Universities of Mendoza and La Plata, as well as the Latin American Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Throughout his career he has held various positions, such as Technical Director of the Metropolitan Area of Madrid between 1977 and 1980, Professor of Urbanism at the Polytechnic University of Madrid between 1993 and 2001, Director of the Institute of Local Administration Studies or Director and Secretary General of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando , of which he is an Honorary Scholar since 2002.

Although mainly dedicated to urbanism, being the author of numerous studies, analyses and publications, he has simultaneous his main dedication, with a limited practice of painting and engraving, having exhibited his work in Madrid on occasion. He has been awarded on numerous occasions for his work, such as the King James I Award or the Gold Medal of Urbanism of the Community of Madrid.
