Giovanni Vendramini was an Italian engraver from Trevisto. He studied architecture with Antonio Gaidon and engraving with Antonio Suntach. He then travelled to London to study with Francesco Bartolozzi and later to Russia, where he spent several years at the court of the Tsars. He returned to London where he resided until his death and where he engraved numerous pictorial works by his contemporaries. He stood out mainly thanks to his great mastery, which allowed him to transfer the oils to the plates directly, without having to make a preparatory drawing as was customary.
