Monirul Islam, is a Spanish artist from Bangladesh of great international reference. In 1966 he began his studies at the University of Dhaka, finishing them three years later. Thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, he was able to specialize in mural painting within the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.

He came into contact with the Spanish artistic avant-garde and then began to work with important figures such as Rafael Canogar, Antonio Saura, Carmen Laffón or Luis Gordillo, among others. Thanks to his good etching technique, for which he found his success in this country, he was able to receive up to two highest civil honors in Spain, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Queen Isabel (2010) and the Order of Spanish Merit Commander (2018).
