Luis Muntané Muns, a Catalan painter and engraver trained under the tutelage of Vicente Borrás and José Monfrell, trained at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, thanks to which he was able to travel to Italy in 1927 to continue his training. He will become a professor of natural drawing, a position in which he has been consolidated for almost thirty years.

After that he was appointed academician of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, in Madrid. He opted for the most classic and academic lines of expression with a great realism, getting thanks to his tones, plastic environments of an incredible warmth. The still lifes, the portraits and the figure of the woman, will be the themes by which his work will be developed.

As for the engraving more specifically, we can highlight its excellent technique around a series of images inspired by the city of Barcelona. After a brilliant career you can perceive a wide range of awards behind his back, highlighting a National Painting Award and a National Engraving Award.
