José Manuel Ballester, painter and photographer graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1984. In his early days he was interested in the Italian and Flemish schools of the 15th and 18th centuries, mainly because of their technique. In the nineties and since then, he begins to carry out works in which photography and painting are united as one in his work.

Ballester went on to win the Spanish National Photography Award in 2010, in addition to participating in currently renowned exhibitions such as the ARCO fair, Art Chicago or Art Forum Germany. His work is also exhibited in large institutions such as the Reina Sofía National Museum, the Miami Art Museum, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Telefónica Foundation, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, in Beijing or the Coca-Cola Foundation, among others.
