José Vázquez, a Cordoban engraver who began his training in Madrid, at the Academy of San Fernando, once his family moved to this city. Like his father, he learned about the techniques of sweet-cut engraving or dot engraving, which made him even a merit academician at the Royal Academy of San Fernando. His professional career gained importance when he began working on large-scale projects at that time, the General Collection of the trages that are currently used in Spain, begun in 1801 or the General Collection of the trages currently used by all the nations of the discovered world, are some of the different works he carried out.
