Emilio Ancelet was an excellent etching engraver and lithographer who, thanks to his mastery, participated in one of the most important engraving projects of the 19th century in Europe, such as the Collection of Architectural Monuments of Spain (1852 - 1881). This project had the best engravers, draftsmen and archaeologists in collaboration with different institutions such as the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, the Special School of Architecture and the sponsorship of the Ministry of Development of Spain.
