Miguel Gamborino, was a draughtsman, painter and engraver thanks to his sufficient training first at the Academy of San Carlos in Valencia, which from a very young age allowed him to access important awards for his work as an engraver. In 1781 he entered the School of Drawing of Barcelona to perfect his engraving technique, and four years later he enrolled in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, where two years later he obtained the prize of engraving of the Academy. His subjects range from religious and devotional prints, to portraits and even traditional scenes, which until then had not been evident in the world of engraving. He was also a great lithographer, something exceptional at that time due to the little knowledge and the new technique that it entailed.
