Estampa destinada a la ilustración de la edición española de la obra de Conyers, Middleton Historia de la vida de Marco Tulio Cicerón, impresa por la Imprenta Real en 1790 y 1804. La obra tuvo gran éxito en su tiempo, agotándose los mil quinientas ejemplares de la primera edición, razón por la cual se decidió editar la segunda. Al margen de la edición impresa, se editaron cien colecciones de las estampas ilustradoras que se vendían por separado. Los grabados en sí forman una importante colección para los amantes de la numismática.
